ICARUS Ops Error Elimination System (EES) · designed to reduce errors
Switching procedures software for power and utilities
ICARUS Ops runs switching, substation and maintenance procedures as step-by-step digital procedures on Android and iOS devices, with time stamps, photo proof and sign-off, even with no signal.

Switching
Switching orders in a fixed sequence
A switching order lists each operation in the exact order it must be done, with the expected state of each device. In EES it runs one step at a time and cannot be reordered, with hold points where a named person must sign off.

Process
How it works
1. Author
Write the procedure in the ICARUS Ops web portal, with review, approval and version control.
2. Assign and sync
Assign it per site, per person or per department. Crews sync it to the Android or iOS app before work.
3. Execute offline
One step at a time, in a fixed order. Critical steps need a photo, a reading or a sign-off.
4. Sync and review
Records upload when the device reconnects. HQ reviews them in the ICARUS Ops web portal and retains easy access for audit.
Every step records who completed it and when. Date-time curves flag steps and rounds done unrealistically fast or slow, and data ranging flags readings outside the range the author set.
Work on power generation, transmission and distribution is covered by OSHA 29 CFR 1910.269 and 29 CFR 1926 Subpart V. EES supports, and does not replace, your safety program.

Frequently asked questions
What devices does ICARUS Ops run on?
Field crews use native apps for Android and iOS phones and tablets. HQ uses the ICARUS Ops web portal in a browser to write, assign and review procedures.
Does ICARUS Ops EES work with no signal?
Yes. The native apps run procedures with no signal, for example at remote substations or areas of outage, and records sync when the device reconnects.
How does ICARUS Ops show that a step was done?
Every step records who completed it and when. Critical steps can require a photo, a reading or a sign-off before the crew can continue.
