ICARUS Ops Error Elimination System (EES) · designed to reduce errors
ICARUS Ops electronic lockout/tagout (LOTO) is a set of digital LOTO procedures for the native Android and iOS apps. Crews follow each isolation point in a fixed order, photograph every lock and tag as prescribed in the procedure, record verification of zero energy, and get sign-off from the authorized person, even with no signal. EES supports, and does not replace, your OSHA 1910.147, 29 CFR 1926.417 and NFPA 70E energy-control program.
Electronic lockout/tagout (LOTO)
Digital LOTO procedures, built into the ICARUS Ops EES platform. Designed by current master electricians to meet today’s standards. Works online or offline, and offline is where it earns its keep.
- Step-by-step isolation. Each isolation point appears in a fixed order. Steps cannot be skipped or reordered.
- Lock and tag photo proof. Crews take a photo of each lock and tag as prescribed in the procedure, and can mark it up.
- Verification of zero energy. A required step to confirm and record zero energy before work starts.
- Authorized-person sign-off. Work cannot continue until the authorized person signs off.
- Time stamps on every step. Who did what, and when.
- Works offline. Runs in the native Android and iOS apps with no signal.
- Full audit trail. Records sync to the cloud for review in the ICARUS Ops web portal.
- Integrated abandoned lock protocol. Flags a personal lock left on a group lockbox after its owner has left the site, so it can be handled under your energy-control program’s removal procedure. The procedure can also require a photo of each technician’s personal lock on the group lockbox.
EES supports, and does not replace, your OSHA 1910.147, 29 CFR 1926.417 and NFPA 70E energy-control program.

How an electronic LOTO procedure runs
- Isolate in order. Each isolation point appears in a fixed order.
- Apply lock and tag. Crews apply physical locks and tags under your energy-control program.
- Photo. Crews photograph each lock and tag, and can mark it up.
- Verify zero energy. A required step records the verification result with a time stamp.
- Authorized-person sign-off. Work cannot continue until the authorized person signs off.
- Sync. Records upload to the cloud for review in the ICARUS Ops web portal when the device reconnects.

Frequently asked questions
Does ICARUS Ops include electronic lockout/tagout (LOTO)?
Yes. ICARUS Ops includes digital LOTO procedures in the platform. Each isolation point appears in a fixed order, crews take a photo of each lock and tag as prescribed in the procedure, a required step records verification of zero energy, and the authorized person signs off before work continues. EES supports, and does not replace, your OSHA 1910.147, 29 CFR 1926.417 and NFPA 70E energy-control program.
Does the electronic LOTO work with no signal?
Yes. LOTO procedures run in the native Android and iOS apps with no signal. Every step is time-stamped, and records sync to the cloud for review in the ICARUS Ops web portal when the device reconnects.
Does electronic lockout/tagout replace physical locks and tags?
No. Crews still apply physical locks and tags under the energy control program. A customer-authored ICARUS Ops-based lockout/tagout procedure guides the steps and keeps the record: who applied which lock at which point, when, and the verification result.
What is “verification of zero energy”?
It is the step where a qualified person confirms that the equipment is de-energized before work starts, for example by testing for absence of voltage. In ICARUS Ops it is a required step, and the result is recorded with a time stamp.
